Using the Replace Colour Tool

i need to change the colour of part of an image, with a particular colour. When i go to the replace colour tool, i am not able to change the colour to the colour i have saved as a swatch. Any ideas?

       After making the Selection choose Edit > Fill and fill with the Foreground color and the Blending Mode set to Color. Much depends on the luminosity of the current and the new color. If you post the image and the desired new color, we would be better able to advise you.
