video frames to layers getting stuck & won't even open file explorer

Hi !

I'm using the latest photoshop and trying to import video frames to layers to make some gifs. When I click that tho, a green loading bar comes up that says “initializing video import” but it never actually initialises.... the bar loads fully and then it won't open my files so i can choose which video to get frames from. i left it to see if maybe my laptop needed time to load it but i waited literal hours and nothing happened. does anyone know how to fix this ? I'm on windows if that helps.

Hi ! Came upon this post when encountering the same problem and, for me, restarting my computer fixed the issue. I don't know about you or jop2691 but I just thought I'd share this, in case anyone else ever has that issue again...

I figured it's probably some kind of cache thing? Or maybe my graphics card was having trouble managing a new task (I did spend the entire afternoon working on Photoshop while watching a movie on the same computer, so there's that). I don't know, maybe there was a more efficient way to fix this, but the point is restarting the computer must have done something good 'cause I was able to import my video into layers after that.
