Question

Wacom pen stopped working on some of Kyle's watercolor brushes

Hi,

I noticed a couple of days ago that suddenly my Wacom pen isn't working with some of Kyle's Watercolor brushes but I have no idea why. I updated the Wacom tablet after but that hasn't helped other than with some lagging issues.

I'm not really great with all the ins and outs of Photoshop, but I do know I didn't change anything.

In the image attached you can see the 3 brushes that are not working right. On the right hand side is the mouse version. 80 Rough is really bad, I have to press really hard to even get that stroke, mostly it's just ghost strokes I can barely see.

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong and how I might fix it?

Many thanks.

Some brushes work by disabling Windows Ink. And vice versa. Aside from that, if the pressure is too 'firm', the line tends not to come out. It has to modulate for gentler pressure. But I keep having problems with watercolor brushes (they work on the mouse but not on the Wacom)

Hi,

I tried doing all the things as suggested in the Adobe help link, but the brushes are still not working. I'm really not sure what to do as I use these brushes all the time. I have also contacted Wacom to see if they could help but I haven't had a reply as yet. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to fix it?

Many thanks.

Hey @sarar78869016 ,

You can reset the Photoshop prefs. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

And here's a resource on restting your Wacom prefs - https://machollywood.com/blogs/news/how-to-remove-backup-restore-wacom-preferences

Let us know how you go.

Hi,

I tried both of those and it still didn't work.

In the picture below you can see this ghosting is still happening. When the line is most clear I am pressing down really hard with the Wacom pen. If I just use it as I do with my other brushes I get this weird ghosting effect, sometimes bits showing through other times just trasnparent. I really don't know what to do and I need these brushes to continue my illustration work.

Many thanks.

Hi @sarar78869016 ,

Try these suggestions from Adobe. Check out the second row on the table.

Let us know if it fixes things ok?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Windows is up to date and I already updated Photoshop after I found they weren't working - it didn't help, still not working. Really confused as to what is wrong...

Thanks.
