Question

Wacom Pressure Sensitivity still not working in Photoshop

I know this subject has been beaten to death all over the web, and I've tried I don't know how many different times to get pressure sensitivity to work with my Wacom Intuous 5 Pro, but no dice. I even went to the point of installing Windows 11 and all of my software fresh. Still no dice.

I have no problem working with pressure sensitivity in other software. For example, it works fine in Substance Painter. No problems in Affinity Paint. But Photoshop? No!  So it's not Windows Ink, it's not the Wacom tablet, it's something funky that seems to be unique to Photoshop.

For the sake of my own sanity, can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me the steps to fix this?  I've tried turning Windows Ink on and off, tried the PSUserConfig.txt file, tried reinstalling drivers, everything. Nothing works.

When using the Brush tool have you checked...

  1. Status of the Pressure button within the Options bar running along the top of Photoshop
  2. Brush Settings panel > Shape Dynamics > Control > Pen Pressure

Yes, those are checked. But the "Use Pen Pressure" option has a triangle beside it

There are several posts here and in various places on the Internet that explain how to "correct" this, but none of them have worked.

Have you had pressure sensitivity working with Photoshop in the past? The Creative Cloud app allows for multiple versions of Photoshop to be simultaneously installed. Perhaps try an earlier version or two to better isolate whether the problem is with a specific version of Photoshop or all of them.
