Want to add text fields 'File name' and 'Date' that automatically update when opening a new PSDT

Hi,

I would like to add two fields of text to a .PSDT document that Autofill when opening a new document.

Basically the current date and the documents file name.

I have a template I use to send artwork and designs to customers for approval. It would be good if i could Automate these fields to save typing it all again or copy and pasting etc.

Photoshop 2025, Windows 11

Thanks!

This will require a custom script and the use of the Script Events Manager.

If you open a template .psdt file, how will it have a valid document filename to auto-populate? It would open as Untitled-1, Untitled-2 etc.

How are you adding the logo to the approval template?

A copy of the template, or at least the two layers in question with the other template elements redacted or removed would be required for setup and testing.
