What are these annoying circles that are automatically appearing while creating a path?

I prefer the pen mode over the crosshairs. When I switched the path tool to the pen setting, these circles are popping in while a draw a path and blocking my view. How do I disable this? Screenshot attached.

That looks like the Peanut Dash tool preset.

 

Make a new layer and Reset the Pen Tool by right clicking on the Pen Tool icon and clicking Reset Tool.
