What happened to the path tool?

Why can't I see the lines anymore when I want to create a path around an object? Just when I change the view or zoom in/out of the object. What do I have to do so it will be visible directly while drawing the path?

Uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop did the job. Now it works again.

Thank you much for your reply. I tried the tipp with the rubber band. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem.

Still not able to see the path while drawing.

It is a bit difficult to show the problem in a screenshot. But I will try.

As you see on the picture, I am drawing a path. You see some lines I did, but only because I zoomed out a bit... but when I set a fresh new node to continue with the path, you see neither the line nor the point /node (the new point I made is marked in a yellow circle - it is invisible)

In earlier versions all worked very well - lately I have troubles with the path tool...since the latest updates.

There was a problem with the Pen tool and work paths a couple of minor updates ago. Are you using the latest version?

Also, what operating system are you using? There have been issues with OSX Big Sur, but I am a Windows user and not up to date with the details. Have a trawl through these links. If you tell us what your OS is, I (or another Mod) can change your subject line to get the appropriate people to view your thread.

I am working with Windows (10) as well. As far as I can tell I am working with the latest version in CS - Adobe Photoshop 22.4.2. All worked fine before (like I mentioned, I had already troubles a little while ago, a couple of weeks I noticed that I could not create a path if I already create and save a 'new path' in the path window at the beginning. I could only work with it in working path mode.)
Recently nothing much works properly in my path pane.
I also see in my toolbar that I can't select certain options anymore (screenshot).
