whats wrong with this brush i've created?

the goal was to create a hair brush, i made some points of different sizes, yet the brush acts like a pen, all i see is a single line and i don't know whats wrong

The only thing I can see from your screen shot is that I wouldn't chose to have Wet Edges turned on with a hair brush. Everything else looks fine.

 

What I can't see is the color and/or tonal value of the preset when you defined it.  Was if full black?

We aslo can't see the brush opacity when drawing with it.  Is it 100%?

The right click menu shows the preset at 472 which is the pixel size when it was defined.  You have reduced it to 60 pixels to use, which would make each dot of the preset 1/8th the size they were when defined.  Could they be reduced to a size where no longer visible?

 

I've redevined a similar preset, so copy this to Photoshop if you want to go along with the following settings:

Set spacing to 1% as with your own preset.

Set Shape Dynamics > Size Jitter to Fade with a fade value of 1000

 

That's about it.

    The reduced size was the problem, thank you! I deleted that one anyway and created another one with your suggested settings and it worked great, thank you 🙂
