Question

When copying a gradient to another artboard, it stays in the original artboard

This behaviour seems like an error to me. I have a document with several artboards. Imagine that in one of this artboard there is a text layer, a gradient and an image. If I copy this three elements to another artboard, I can see all of the three layers being copied to the second artboard, but when I select the gradient, it is still placed on the original artboard location. So I have to manually place it in the new artboard where I want it to be.

How can I achieve that the copy of the gradient follows the locations as the other items do? It would be super awkward if I copied a text layer and it was copied -according to Layers panel- but the text would be still seen in the original artboard.

Hi, and thank you for your reply.

Version is the latest one: 25.6.0

Gradient is a gradient layer made with the Gradient tool

Yes, the layer was duplicated from one artboard to another one, like I said in my initial post:

What version and build of Photoshop?

Is this a gradient adjustment layer?

Are you using Layer > Duplicate?
