When Exporting As multiple groups, each group gets darker in the export as panel

I am trying to batch export multiple groups at the same time in a photoshop file as pngs and each group in the export as panel gets progressively darker according to the layer order.
I'm sharing pics of what the layers look like in the actual photoshop document vs. the export panel. When they are exported, they stay dark like they appear in the export panel.
Each group is set to Pass Through, but there are adjustment layer groups within each main group that are clipped to the respective contents in that layer.

If I flatten each group the darkening effect goes away, but it would be a pain to have to do that for everything I have to export.
