When I insert a color jpeg into a photoshop picture, the jpeg layer tht is inserted is black and white, not color. HELP!

This just began. When I insert a jpeg layer into a photoshop project, the layer loses all color. Is there a filter that I somehow turned on.

Did you check the color profile for the file you are dropping it into?

Go to Image > Mode and make sure it's set to RGB Color

Going to image and to the color tab, as recommended, did not help. Thanks for the try.
