Where are my save types?

Hello,

I need help with my save types. I am trying to save a JPEG but they are not available. Neither is PNG, or much else for that matter. I am using RGB with 8bits/channel. Ive updated Photoshop and have tried to open a fresh file but nothing works. Bit stressed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Vicky

Version 22.4 updated the User Interface with a new command- [SAVE A COPY] and JPG, PNG, etc disappeared from the [SAVE AS] command.

After many complaints (from people like you) Version 22.4.2 (June 2021) was released with another update that allowed the "Legacy Save Option".

Read the update notes on the "Save" topic-

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/saving-images.html#revert-legacy-save-option

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

To check how the file does not conform to the jpg-standard could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

Hi

Adobe have changed how the Save As feature works in version 22.4, you can revert it back in version 22.4.2

More info, scroll down if you need to revert it back to the legacy Save As

You may want to read the »What’s New«-section of the Help in the future when upgrading Photoshop.

You can either

• use File > Save a Copy (cmd-alt-S)

• or check Photoshop > Preferences > File Handling > Enable legacy "Save As"
