In much older version of Photoshop there was a Plug-in Preference the let you add an additional Plug-in Folder to the Photoshop version.  You could Install your plug-ins in that folder the add that folder to Photoshop,  The made made installing new versions of Photoshop easier to install. Adobe Photoshop installers doe not migrate Photoshop third party plug-ins you have to install your third party Plug-ins into every Photoshop version you install.  In the old days all you needed to do was to add the Additional Plug-in folder you installed your plug-ins in.    However some third Party plug-ins were coded where they would locate their additional files their installer installed relative the the Current Photoshop version folder.   Those Plug-ins needed to be installed into every Photoshop version.    Eventually Adobe removed the Preference which allowed to to add your Additional Plug-ins folder.   If you want to maintain your third Party plug-ins in your own plug-in folder these days you have to manually add you additional plug-in folder to Photoshop.  I do however, I still have to manually install the Third party plug-ins that require on being install into every Photoshop versions install tree.

Normally third party plug-in include an installer that will install the plug-in into Photoshop versions installed on your machine. Did you run your third party plug-in installer for each of your third party plug-ins

I´m really trying to get this thing to work but no luck yet. You suppose to be able to chooses you own location folder of plugs in prefs. When PS is open. But can only find the prefs. with the "plugin"- not any preferences for it.

Once again I´m stuck wit this

thanks you Mack! I´m using PS 2018 on a PC. Installed PS just last night. I tried Installing on of the plugs I got form my birthday but that one did not turn up in PS. So before I start installing any more I must be sure I know what I´m doing.

    thanks Mack!

Which Platform PC/Mac and  Photoshop Version.  Third Party plug-ins are normally installed into each Photoshop Versions Plug-ins folder  by their installers.  For example Windows 10 Photoshop CC 2018 folder: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018\Plug-ins"
