Which adobe photoshop essential training programme should I use?

I have adobe photoshop 2015 installed on my mac, and I want to use linked in learning courses to learn how to use it. Do I have to use essential training 2015 or should I use the latest version - essential training 2020 - as I recently installed the latest update on creative cloud? Or are there fundamental differences between the 2 versions that would affect the compatibility of learning one version on the other? Also in the training video does it have to be specifically for mac or does it not make much difference?

https://www.linkedin.com/learning/photoshop-cc-2015-one-on-one-fundamentals is still in the Linkedin Learning library and for the best experience you want to match courses with software. The course gives the keyboard shortcuts for the Mac and PC as well as anything to note between the two platforms. There are differences between 2015 and 2020 and you don't want to be asked for a tool you don't have while (like object selection) following along. Deke's a great instructor. Take notes and replay any parts if you don't get it at first.  I hope that answers it.

(Photoshop CC 2015 was pulled from the CC App a while back over Adobe's legal issues, but it's early here and I don't want to analyze that.)

Is there a particular reason why you are still using Photoshop 2015 on your Mac? If you're just starting out, it seems better to be up to date first - and it is included in tyour subscription. (You can even keep the old version installed)

Ok, I am currently updating it to the latest version compatible with my macbook (it's quite old) so 2020 is actually not compatible with it, but I think now that I'm installing the update it's allowing me to update to photoshop version 16 whichever that is

Version 16 is Photoshop CC 2015

Definately upgrade to Photoshop 2020, it has a number of new features and improvements over earlier versions, for example, employing artificial intelligence for selections.

Hi

If you have Photoshop 2020 installed then I would do the essential training for that as they'll teach you about the new features, in my experience most of the courses are identical, for example Deke's One on One courses haven't really changed much, the only difference is the new features parts, so One on One 2017 is nearly identical to One on One 2020

Ok, so to confirm - when I install the update on version 2015 it will bring me right up to date same as version 2020? Thanks for your advice with the learning courses!

CC 2015 and 2020 are completely separate installs, you should see an option to update Photoshop in the Creative Cloud app, once you click on update you will be given the option to remove older versions, if you need CC 2015 for a particular reason don't remove it cause you want be able to get it back ever.
