Why are my pictures layering like this? I only am using one tab.

All my images are loading. But when they load it will show all the images in the background on one tab. None of my tools are working as well. I have tried updating it, installing a previous version, uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting workspace ( just in case i clicked on something i didnt notice) Not sure what to do.

Correct answer J453

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

The tip when hovering the text for checkbox says it's for 3D problems, so how it refer to this issue?

When yestarday overusing Filer > Liquify item and then zooming the already open images the same happened. Then I as you I couldn't use options and tools, also when leaving Liquify palette. Sometimes there's error dialog which re-shows in no time after closing it, or Photoshop quits itself. I also had information of no more space for storaged memory. No problem for me on the computer it happens as I know the machine is weak as it has old video card and other outdated hardware.

@christyf19745469 , @Kukurykus ,

That 'Deactivate Native Canvas' option switches Photoshop's canvas mode to a temporary state that will be going away soon. To ensure that your system will continue to work with Photoshop beyond this cutover, please send us your Photoshop > Help > System Info.

The code Photoshop uses to 'talk' to the GPU is changing, and we'd like to make sure that if we can stay compatible with your hardware, we can fully test things.

If your GPU card is over 7 years old, or has a corrupt or old GPU driver date, or insufficient memory (< 2GB VRAM), future versions of Photoshop may have trouble working on that hardware.

Am I correct in assuming that this refers to Metal/DirectX vs. OpenGL? That's what "deactivate native canvas" does? We get some questions about this, and it makes matters clearer if we can explain that operating system support for OpenGL is ending.

When you say "on one tab" do you mean on one layer or do you mean in one file?

May we see your Layers panel?

What are the steps you are doing to open the files?
