Question

Why did default settings change so drastically in 2023?

In every version of photoshop before this fresh install, when I pull an image in to import, it would show the white little transform boxes at the corners of the image or graphic.  That doesn't exist anymore?  I have to hit hotkeys in order to resize an image or layer?

Additionally, when I drag in an illustrator file (vector logo) it cuts off most of the graphic.  That has never once happened to me before. Why is this all of a sudden the default behavior?  You can't possibly convince me that people want things they import cropped and cut off automatically. That is absurd!

Anyone know how to show the transform corners and how to import images and graphics without photoshop butchering it.  Who the heck thought these basic default behaviors should be removed?

It sounds like your Illustrator file has artwork falling outside the boundaries of the artboard. You'll need to make your artboard large enough to contain all your art. This has been the behavior of PS and AI for many versions.

Just realized the show transform controls option was unchecked by default. Fixed that at least. The cropping when pulling in an image and graphic is making me pull my hair out. I'm just trying to add a logo to a poster.

Hi DustMan,

"Show Transform Controls" in the options for the Move tool has never been checked by default. I was about to suggest it, but I'm glad that you've found it. I've moved your post from Bugs to Discussions, as this is not a bug.

For the Illustrator files, that's not happening for me. Can you show a screenshot?

Also try Copy in Illustrator, then go to Photoshop and choose Paste. There are five choices for pasting. Try each to see how they work.
