omg, i was about to make a post just on this until i saw this post. I saw the guy's response below, i will try it, but what i think we will never know is why adobe does this in the first place?? Over pretentious stuff? Begging for our attention to use their new crap they amde and have to justify it? Why does the user have to come post on a forum, and then wait for some screenshot to tell poor user where to go etc to turn this crap off.. Completely disrespectful to the user! I wish Apple made a photo editor just like they made fiinal cut..

I expect a lot of people at Adobe have a lot of opinions about a lot of stuff.

Some of them (the ones who »won« the argument in this case) believed a Home Screen would be a good idea.

That you don’t agree with them on this (me, neither) does not mean that some other users might not find it useful.

So the important thing is: It can be turned off!

Which version of Photoshop have you been using lately so that the issue comes to your attention now?

It has been introduced years ago and as long as one (at least casually) follows the »What’s New«-section of the Help it’s usually only a few annoying novelties at worst one has to »turn off« with a new programm version.

(Greater changes may naturally also »happen« from time to time; some peole are apparently still lamenting the removal of  Variations for example.)
