Why does my photoshop only open psd files trough the open option but doesnt open when i double click

I've just moved to a new computer and i moved my old psd files to the new computer. I also upgraded to a windows 10 from a windows 7. The photoshop version is still the same as i had before (CS6). There is no error message, everything acts like normal but the file just doesn't open. (Yes i have photoshop opened when i double click)
