why does photoshop insist on opening some of my .mov files when they are in fact associated with movieplayer? (Windows 11)

    Are you saying that double clicking a .mov file from File Explorer opens that file in Photoshop?

    Or are you opening it from Bridge or Lightroom?

    I don't use Lightroom, but Bridge has its own file associations that are not related to Windows.

    Is it something like that?

    Yes I think you're right - windows explorer opens it correctly but my cataloging software sometimes seems confused by certain codecs in mov containers - I'll have to learn to live with it.
