Why is there a 1 px shadow around my 1px stroke on digital ads

Hi!

I am creating digital ads and I need to put a 1 px border around them. I used the marquee tool on a new layer to add a 1px black stroke but on some of the add there is like a shadow around it also 1 px and some of the other's the line is grey instead of black. Looks like this

Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Use the line tool or if it's a box, the rectangle tool and apply your stroke that way. Should be a nice solid line.

    Hi!

I realize that you are using the Marquee tool, but here is an article on the Pixel Grid that might be helpful:

    Hi there,

That does not sound right, as there is a 1px shadow around the border of the stroke, could you please share a screenshot of the complete layers panel? As that would help up understand the issue in a better way.

Also, while adding the stroke to a selection, please make sure that the blending mode is set to Normal and the location is set to Center.

Please let us know if it helps.
