Question

Why won't PhotoShop open jpf files anymore? (JPEG 2000) Last week they worked fine!

I am renting Photoshop on my Mac computer using Sonoma 14.4.1 and last week I converted some TIFF or JPEG files to JPEG 2000 (jpf) and they reduced the image size very well - even better than webp, but now Photoshop won't even open those files. What is the deal with JPEG 2000 and JPEG Stereo. How can I best reduce size of my photos (usually 4-7 MGBs to share on the web? HJELP!

Jpeg 2000 has basically sunk. Nobody seems to use it. Today we have better alternatives, like HEIF, AVI and webp.

On my mac Photoshop open jpf without problems.

But why not saving on a more recnet JPEG format via the export menu?
