Amateur user.  I purchased my iMac in 2008 and sometime later added Photoshop CS 5.1 (12.1 x32).

It's time for a computer upgrade and I want my Photoshop software to be compatible with

a new iMac.  Does anyone have info or a place to find this info?  Thank you, bighnd.

New Macs will ship with MacOS 10.13.4

So download and install Legacy Java Download Java for OS X 2017-001

and follow the procedure for installing on Sierra Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

You should be fine, but CS5 never saw the changes in MacOS that may render it nonfunctional some day, and it's not going to be updated.

You will have to subscribe or go with Photoshop Elements.

As it works on Yosemite  probably it will work on newer versions too.
