Wondering how to recreate this effect

Hi all!

So, I know this is a big ask and nobody is going to have an answer for everything I ask, nor do I expect them to, but recently I was checking out some work by Cameron Gray and was mesmerised by the sheer beauty of his work. I was wanting to create something similar. Not as huge or as elaborate of course, but I wanted to know if anybody had any idea how to recreate common effects he creates (i'm not sure he creates his artwork in photoshop but I'm sure it's possible to replicate).

Notice the use of saturated, vivid colours and beautiful lighting. This is the effect I want to create. Does anybody have the slightest clue how I'd go about this? Would I draw all the shapes of the colours and then make them bright and glow somehow? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
