Question

Working on one layer, show all layers separately in a window

I have a question about working layers, i've searched a bit without success.

I would like to work on a layer seperately while viewing all my layers in another window.  ie: one window shows only 1 layer of a document, and another window shows all the layers.    This would be very useful for retouching composite images etc.    Is there a plugin or method to do this?  Many thanks.

You can have a second window which can be set to say an enlarged zoom level of say 400%, so that you can view your retouching and navigation in the zoomed in window and also see the results live/real-time in the other window that is set to say 100% zoom. This is document based, not per layer based.

Another option is to create a smart object from a layer/s, then edit the smart object file which will let you work in a separate window – however this is NOT live/real-time and you will not see the updates until you save/close the smart object window.

I never had idea what that second identical window of first document instance can be for 🙂

I know Photoshop shop can't do that

I'm doubting that there is a plugin. But it sounds like a good idea.
