"Your graphics processor is incompatible"

Hi. With the latest PS update on PC, I'm finally running into a "graphics card incompatible" message when I start PS (non beta). I'm not surprises as I'm running quite old kit. I will be upgrading in a few months. But for now can anyone recommend a ["temporary"] graphics card I might get from eBay? Here are the specs. I can still run PS but slowly. I'm also running Lightroom which seems OK at present, and Resolve which I'm having to use an older version.
BOARD: ASROCK Z77 Pro4-M
16 GB RAM
Windows 10 PRO
i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz 4 cores
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 NVIDIA
"Your graphics processor is incompatible
Feature Level 11.0 available, feature level 12.0 required
AVALIABLE: Open GL, Open CL, DirectX"

Thanks very much.

@Richard Histon

Since you'll be upgrading in a few months, you might want to try these:

  • Go to Preferences > Technology Previews > Enable "Deactivate Native Canvas" > Restart Photoshop
    This is for GPUs that do not support DirectX 12

  • Use the previous version of Photoshop that worked for you.

Also note that "in a few months" on the first day of Adobe MAX (Oct 8), the new version is likely to be released, and it may or may not have different system requirements.

You're welcome, Richard. The "Deactive Native Canvas" has worked for a lot of folks with older GPUs, so it's worth a try.
