zoom delay and cursor disappearing in layers panel

Using PS 22.5.1 and a cintiq tablet on MacOS 10.15.7, the zoom tool freezes/has extreme delay when first using it, then if I do another action, it will work again.  Then when going back to it later the issue will recur.  Also, when the cursor goes over the layers panel it disappears momentarily.

These issues don't occur in older builds, such as PS 2020/2019.  However other bugs do occur on those apps, which are much worse, but these still are a major issue with workflow.
