Can’t remove background person

A couple years ago August 2024 the AI removal tool could remove people from the background and replace with what was around them. Today I am trying the tool and it won’t remove the person. It makes a new face or head. And then it won’t use the background of the surrounding area it takes from other parts of the photo that don’t make sense so it looks worse (like instead of the nearby wall it used my outfit and put that Where a wall should be, above me in the pic)

I tried the same thing in Lightroom I just didn’t have a screenshot from that app. It did the same exact thing no matter what I highlighted. I tried the full body, the head only, part of the head, etc. I just didn’t have screenshot of each step to share. So there’s no way to get this to work like it used to? In 2024 I removed full people from backgrounds and now it isn’t working anymore. I read that there was an update to the AI engine and it works differently now.

What app is this? It doesn’t look like Lightroom to me. Anyway; it looks like you selected only the face of the person you want to remove. You need to select the entire person. If you select just his face, then the only logical thing that AI Remove can do is create a new face to match with what is left of that person.

I don’t see any problems. The tool works as expected and works well. By the way: I see this thread was moved to the Photoshop Express forum, but I used Lightroom as I do not have that and you posted initially in the Lightroom forum.
