Photoshop Express vs. Full Photoshop: What Am I Using and What's the Future Cost?

Hello everyone,

I'm a new user trying to understand the main difference between Photoshop Express and the full Adobe Photoshop.

I recently tried to download Photoshop after finding it on a site (link: https://www.filezhub.com/Download_adobe-photoshop-3217/windows). When I clicked the download button, it redirected me to the Microsoft Store, and the Photoshop Express app started downloading.

Now, I'm genuinely confused.

  1. Is Photoshop Express the official free, limited version of the full paid Photoshop?
  2. I wasn't charged anything on the Microsoft Store during the download. Will there be future charges, or is this app permanently free? I haven't done much editing, just checked out the basic tools.

Since I downloaded it from the Microsoft Store, I assumed it might be a lightweight utility tool. Could an expert please explain what I am currently using, and what are the main limitations of Express compared to the full subscription-based Photoshop?

Thank you so much for clarifying!

Hi @Jasveer_Singh0278 ,

Thanks for reaching out and for explaining your situation so clearly. Let me help clarify the difference between Photoshop Express and the full version of Adobe Photoshop, especially since you mentioned downloading it via a link from FilezHub.com.

When you clicked the download button on the FilezHub page and it redirected you to the Microsoft Store, that was completely normal and safe. FilezHub simply helps redirect users to the official download sources (like the Microsoft Store or Adobe’s official website). So, you actually downloaded the genuine Adobe Photoshop Express app — not a trial or third-party installer.

Photoshop Express is Adobe’s official free and lightweight photo editing app. It’s designed for quick edits such as cropping, color correction, and filters. You can use it freely without worrying about hidden or automatic charges. Some premium tools (marked with a 🔒 icon) are available only if you choose to upgrade or subscribe — but that’s completely optional.

The full version of Adobe Photoshop, on the other hand, is part of the Creative Cloud subscription. It’s a professional desktop program with full support for layers, advanced brushes, and complex editing tools. That version requires a paid monthly or yearly plan purchased directly from Adobe.

In short:

You’re currently using Photoshop Express, the official free app from Adobe.

It was safely downloaded via FilezHub’s redirect to the Microsoft Store.

There are no hidden charges unless you choose to upgrade.

For advanced design and full editing control, the paid Creative Cloud Photoshop version is the next step.

Hope this clears up the confusion and helps you decide which version fits your needs.
Feel free to continue exploring — Photoshop Express is a great starting point for quick edits and learning.

Best regards,
