Question

Problem when trying to close Adobe Photoshop Express

I'm using Photoshop Express running under Windows 10. After editing a photo I click on the red X at the too-right of the screen to close the application. The system then brings up the 'Save changes' box in which I click 'Discard' and then the X in the top-right of this box. I then get the blue circle which goes round and round for a while but doesn't close the application. I then click on red X again on the top-right of the screen and get a message 'psexpresscore is not responding' with a choice of either waiting for the application to close or to close the program. Choosing the former does nothing. When I choose to close the program I get a message that the problem is being reported to Microsoft after which the application closes. Whilst this is all happening I've checked Task Manager and found that there is sufficient free memory and that the CPU is well below 100%. Not sure how to fix this. Ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm also having same issue as Connie_Maue73 and tinfoilhatter82 - exactly.I also tried closing it from task manager, except under processes it should show there because it is running, but was not there, however I just checked again and this time it was there - 5 instances of it running - why?  At any rate, if you press ctrl+alt+del then click on task manager and then look through processes tab until you find it, then right click on it and lastly click on end task.  Presto - closed now.

I have the same problem in Windows 11. Photoshop express launches automatically with windows. When I R-click on the system tray, it doesn't bring up a menu to close it, just launches the program. When I click X to close, it minimises to the system tray. There is absolutely NO option to close this app. Quite presumptuous of Adobe really. No surprise considering their shady business practices. So I just uninstalled it. I have no real use for it anyway. But it was bundled with the latest microsoft update. Adobe can ki$$ my shiny metal $phincter.

I am having the same problem. When I click the red X to close the program after editing, I get the message that the PSExpressCore is not responding, then it gives me the choice to close the progam or wait for it to respond. When the program finally closes, a message is sent to Microsoft. This has occurred at least 30 times now, so obviously a message to Microsoft is not the solution. Interesting to note also: if I open a photo with the program and DON'T edit it at all, the program closes normally. Anyone have a solution?
