Question

PS Express iPhone- mix layer functions freeze after adding 2nd layer

Hello,

Using Photoshop Express Premium on an iPhone 8 plus, with iOS 16.3.1

Using the Mix function- after opening the 2nd image to a layer (to use as a background), then switching the order of the layers, the layer controls all freeze- can't select the other layer, reorder layers, add, duplicate, merge down or delete any layers-. Can still operate on the layer that is selected, and toggle the background visibility, but layering is disabled and useless. And, secondarily, since the image can't be saved with transparency, the whole thing becomes virtually unusable.

It all works without this issue on my iPhone 14, so I'm wondering if it's because of the ancient iPhone?

Thanks for any advice!

Doug

Hi There,

Welcome to our community. We are sorry for your difficulties. To investigate your issue could you please check and let us know the version of Photoshop express on both of your iOS devices, if any update is pending please update it, also please let us know when you are facing this issue. You could also try the below steps and let us know if this helps:

Cutout objects

You can cut out a part or multiple parts of a picture to isolate what you need. For example, you may want to isolate the object from the background. To cut out and select objects, do the following:

  1. Open the image in the Mix workflow
  2. Tap Cutout.

  3. Photoshop Express detects all the objects present in the image. Select a particular object or multiple objects.

  4. If an object is missing from the selection, tap Add and use Smartcut to select the missing object.

  5. Accept the changes to cut out the selected objects.
