Question

The Remove Object Tool Runs Off AI Credits Now?

I’m a paying subscriber to Photoshop Express and have been using the Remove Object feature for months without issue. It’s been one of the most valuable tools in my workflow. Today I suddenly got a message saying I’m out of monthly generative credits and have to wait until the 20th or upgrade to continue using it.

This is extremely frustrating. When I subscribed, there was no mention of any usage limits on core tools like this. Now a feature I rely on regularly is locked unless I pay more?

I understand Adobe is investing in AI tools, but adding a cap after users have already been paying for full access without clearly communicating the change feels misleading. If you’re going to change what the subscription includes, that should be made obvious and transparent up front.

Can someone from Adobe clarify:

  • When this policy changed?
  • If current subscribers were notified?
  • Whether there’s a way to access the full feature set I originally paid for without being pushed into another tier?

I hope Adobe rethinks this rollout or restores the tools that subscribers signed up for.

I completely agree! I've been using it for every project and now that it's no longer fully included I am considering unsubscribing entirely. Absolutely zero commitment to their legacy subscribers.

Hi @PhatPoot,

Welcome to the community! Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience — I completely understand how frustrating it must be to suddenly lose access to a feature you rely on regularly.

To help us better understand and escalate this appropriately, could you please clarify a few details:

  1. Which platform/device are you using Photoshop Express on (iOS, Android, or Windows)?
  2. Do you recall which subscription plan you initially signed up for (e.g., Premium, Express, etc.)?
  3. Did you receive any in-app notifications or emails recently about changes to your plan or credit usage?
  4. Can you confirm the version of the app you're currently using?

Regards,

Tarun
