Watermark files lost background transparency

I use watermarks almost all the time but PSE started showing white background on .png files with transparent background. The background transparency box next to the Opacity slider doesn't work anymore.

 

To troubleshoot I tried the following:

  • The standard watermarks that come with PSE are working fine, and the background transparency box is functional
  • I downloaded and tried different .png files with transparent background but the issue is still the same
  • The Opacity slider works fine on .png files
  • I tried saving the image to see if the background transparency is applied, but it wasn't
  • I used my other iPhone and my iPad, but the issue is not there. Watermarks work just fine... until I upgraded my other iPhone to PSE 24.17.1... Now it has the same issue... so I turned off automatic updates from my iPad so I can use it for the time being.

 

Here's some background info 

  • 1st iPhone: iPhone 11 Pro Max, running iOS 17.4.1 and PSExpress 24.17.1
  • 2nd iPhone: iPhone 7, running iOS 15.8.2m and after the the upgrade: PSExpress 24.17.1

    Hi @Rayan The Mirage,

     

    Apologies for the late response and your difficulties. Have you tried reinstalling it to see if this helps? Once you uninstall the application, restart your phone and install the Photoshop Express application. Please let me know if this helps. I recommend sharing a screen recording of the workflow to investigate further. Please let me know if you see a premium user below your email account on the application subscription page on all the devices.

    Adobe support confirmed a bug a while ago and said it would be fixed in an upcoming release.

    Several releases we're published on Apple App Store but the issue persists. 
    The focous now is on the AI hype, not basic functionality. I stopped my subscription until this gets fixed. Sad.

    Anyone know the deal with this...STILL? Some of my transparent .png images are rendering properly as a watermark and others (the majority, of course) are not. Reinstalled the app and it got worse. One out of 5 of my watermark files work. They render properly in Photoshop CC 26.2.0 but not in PS Express. I have a personal account.
