2021 drop down menus not working

I just installed Premier/Photoshop Elements 2021.  The organizer won't show any drop down menus, minimize/maxime, etc.  Even the Import, Create, Share buttons are not working.  The only ones that work are Media, People, Places, Events.  Everything else just doesn't do ANYTHING or open any drop-down menus.

I have uninstalled completely and reinstalled TWICE.  Also, the actual editing parts are working fine.  It's just the Organizer.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

If anyone else has this issue... turn OFF "auto hide taskbar" in your settings.  No clue why, but that solved the issue.  Thanks to Adobe Chat for that solution!

I had same problem. Was on phone with Adobe support for almost 2 hours. SOLUTION: I uninstalled the 2 previous versions of Elements on my PC (E2019 and E Album 2.0). Then uninstalled new version (E2021). Then reinstalled new version of E2021 again. Good luck.

Did that work?

I also just upgraded from PSE19 to PSE21 and have the same no-drop-down-menus issue. I have turned off Taskbar Autohide and reinstalled PSE21 but it hasn't helped. Did uninstalling previous versions help?

Yes, uninstall all previous versions of Elements. Then uninstall and reinstall E2021.

I had the same problem (W10, upgrade), only in the Organizer. Tried several things, and in the last attempt installed Quicktime (step 10 of: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-photoshop.html) AND turned off task bar auto-hide. Now the Organizer works fine, what a relief. So not sure which of the two was essential. Adobe, please improve the installation procedure to avoid this problem.

I'm also having the same issue. I can't seem to click on a number of drop down menus from within Premiere, in particular on added effects from within the Effects Control tab which is really frustrating. I also can't seem to click and drag in certain tabs.

It's making the software pretty unusable at this stage.

I have this exact same issue on a sequence that has a nested sequence in it. As soon as I remove the nested sequence, the UI works again.

I am using a Razer 15 with a GTX2060 and an additional 4K monitor, latest drivers and software, in case it makes a difference.

This solve did not work for me either. I've tried trashing preferences, restarting, etc. and still the same issue in MacOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with the most current After Effects version.

I have the same issue, but the solution of turning off the taskbar auto-hide feature did not resolve it for me.  If anyone has other thoughts I'd appreciate it.

Where do I access "settings" to access the "auto hide taskbar"? I'm going the 30 day trial route, and the Organizer menu is unresponsive as is (generally) the Import button. I have found that I can sometimes get one-time menu access via the following process..

1)  be in another program (e.g. Chrome) with Organizer running and its menu visible to me

2)   click (and hold) on an Organizer menu category and choose the item in question. If I release my mouse without choosing an item, I have to go back to step 1. If I've started an Import and Organizer is working on this, menu access via this two step process is not available.

Perhaps related to the first problem, if I click on the full screen button on the top right to toggle the Organizer to less than full screen, I cannot resize the Organizer window or even move it because it immediately goes back to full screen mode.

Needless to say, these issues are a major annoyance and my eventual purchase of Elements 21 will depend on resolving them.

The task bar is located at the bottom of the Windows desktop. Right click on
it and the bottom item is "settings". Make sure that off is showing on
"Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode". This solved my problem
with Elements 2021.

The reason I focused on your Intel video adapter is that I had a different problem/adapter that was solved by installing a different device driver, so I thought that a different Intel device driver **might** fix your problem

I will GUESS that you have a laptop, with an Intel video 'chip' not a separate video card

This is about Premiere Pro, but MAY also cover the Intel video chip in your computer

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/system-compatability-error/td-p/11131207?page=1

If that is the case, you may simply have a video adapter/chip that is no longer supported by Intel, and your video driver is not capable of supporting the modern features of the program... but, since I don't have an Intel video chip, I don't know that for sure

While I understand your thought, I find it difficult to believe that could be the problem since Photoshop and Premiere work just fine, including the drop down menus.  It is quite literally only the menus in Organizer that do not function. In fact, even Organizer works "fine" with the exception of I can't access any menus!  It's just so bizarre.  Thanks for your thoughts, though.

Can you get more specific on the actual model of your processor? Intel makes a couple thousand kinds of processors.

On Windows 10, you can see this by clicking on the Start button, selecting Settings, then System, then About.

Also, how large is your hard drive and how much of it is free space?
