2023 Premiere Elements-freezes and cannot close the program without using the task manager

Hello,

2023 Premiere Elements continues to freeze on me after uploading videos.  Sometimes I have to wait a long time just to be able to save my progress.  When I do try and close the program, I don't have access to the close options and have to force it to close throught the task manager.  I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it.  It worked great for about 30 minutes before the same problems came up again.  Any help would be appreciated.  I am using Windows 11 Home Edition and I am not very techy.

16G of ram should be enough

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers

I have an off the shelf, pretty good laptop from Costco.  It has no where near the 'power' of John's computer.  Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements, the Lightrooms, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition and Affter Effects all run well.

Based on similar questions in the past, what are your settings for Audio Hardware?  (Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware)  Default Input should be set to No Imput.

Hello,

My Audio Hardware input setting was System Default. After changing it to no input I tried uploading a video. It successfully uploaded but when I tried to add something else it froze again.
When I try and upload pictures sometimes they look scrambled.
I have an Inspiron 7373

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @1.80GHz 1.99 GHz
