4k GoPro Import

Question

I am importing a 4k .mp4 file from a GoPro Hero5 and getting an error message that reads, "this type of file is not supported or the codec is uninstalled."  I've only been using 19 for about a month but feel like I have previously imported with this camera and this setting since upgrading to 19.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software but am getting the same message.  Any ideas?

Most likely the file uses an HEVC H.265 codec, which is not supported by Premiere Elements.

To confirm this, open your GoPro footage in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the report it generates to this forum.
