60 FPS Video studdering on playback from timeline

No problem when editing 30 FPS projects, but on FPS projects, video studders badly.  I have a gaming PC laptop with Nvideo Gforce GTX1650 graphics card, I7, solid state drives, etc....  All drivers up to date.  I have changed default audio input to none in Elements.   I've cleared the cache.  I've Googled this a lot and cannot find a cure.  I'm using Premiere Elements 2021.    Any help would GREATLY be appreciated.

What is your preview window quality setting?

I did a few 4K 60fps projects and the playback was smooth (before adding effects) . I also worked with 4K 120fps files and could edit  and play them. Here is an example: https://youtu.be/YSzpKyuD4B0

The problem is that APE has issues with some formats and resolutions as they are poorly implemented.

Do you have GPU acceleration activated?

If yes, playback should be smooth even if the video settings do not match project settings. This is what Adobe is saying:

As well as what Steve said...

>Nvideo Gforce GTX1650

Are you using the Gaming driver or the Studio driver?

nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond

Thanks John.  Yes, I'm using the studio driver, and I just updated with the latest driver yesterday.    I wish that was the issue!

You don't say the resolution of your video, but 4K 60 fps (3840x2160p60) will not edit well in Premiere Elements. The program simply isn't designed to handle it.

It should be able to handle most camcorder 1920x1080 video at 60 fps -- although it depends on the codec used to compress the video and the version of the program you're using to edit it.

Thanks for the reply Steve.  The video I'm bringing in is MP4, 2720x1530, at 59.94 fps (output file from a DJI Mini 2 drone).  The timeline's project settings at Editing Mode: Red Cinema, timebase: 59.04, Frame size: 3840 x 2160.  At the other settings are nominal.  From your response, it sounds like Primiere Elements isn't designed to handle this resolution video well?   I'm certainly experiencing that.

Your footage will properly never run smoothly as there is no matching project settings and it uses a codec that is hard to edit.
