Hi, does anyone know how I can add a different language (but still work in English) to Adobe Premier Elements 2023? I have searched a lot how to do this but only finding tutorials on adding custom language fonts for Premier Pro CC. I am trying to add Urdu font to the monitor screen on Elements 2023 but it appears as crossed boxes. I would really appreciate it if someone could help. I have the font installed on Windows and it works fine on Microsoft Word. I just can't add it onto my videos.

To add a new language font to Adobe Premiere Elements 2023, you need to install the font in your Windows operating system and then select it within Premiere Elements.

Here are the steps to add a new font to Premiere Elements 2023:

  1. Install the Urdu font on your Windows operating system. You can download the font file from a reliable website and then install it by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Install" from the dropdown menu.
  2. Open Adobe Premiere Elements 2023 and create a new project or open an existing one.
  3. Go to the "Title" menu and select "New Title" from the dropdown menu.
  4. In the "New Title" dialog box, select "Default Still" from the "Templates" section.
  5. Enter your desired title name and click "OK".
  6. In the "Title Properties" panel, click on the "Font" dropdown menu and select the newly installed Urdu font.
  7. Type your text in the text box and adjust the font size and other properties as desired.
  8. Once you have created your title, drag it onto the timeline to add it to your video project.

If the Urdu font still appears as crossed boxes after installing it and selecting it within Premiere Elements, it may be a compatibility issue with the font file. In that case, you may need to try a different Urdu font or consult with the font manufacturer for assistance.

Hi thank you for your message, thank you for your help. So far the custom
font appears on the monitor screen but the letters only appear separately
not joining words as I type. They join on Microsoft Word. How do I fix
this?

It sounds like the issue you're facing might be related to the font itself, rather than the settings in Adobe Premiere Elements. Some fonts may not support certain characters or ligatures, which can cause issues with joining letters into words.

One solution you can try is to use a different font that supports the Urdu language and its ligatures. You can search for Urdu fonts that are specifically designed for use in video editing software, which may have better support for ligatures and other features.

Another solution is to use a dedicated Urdu text editor to type out the text you need, and then import that text into Adobe Premiere Elements as an image or graphic. This will ensure that the text appears correctly in your video, without any issues with ligatures or other font features.

What is the font type?

The font doesn’t have a name I’m trying to add a different language. I have
downloaded some custom fonts to match the language but I can’t see a way to
add those either.
