Suddenly now when I try to capture into PE12 i get Adobe Premier Elements 12 has stopped working, this happens when I click on the DV camcorder option in the Get Media drop down, I can capture from Files ,hard drive DVDs.

I have had no problems before now, using windows7 8gig memory.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem please?

Problem 2. As I can't capture in PE 12 but I can in PE 7,however I can not burn a DVD in PE 7 as I get a message telling me to Activate the burning process however when I click on the Link shown I get a page showing Adobe X The Presets LYRICAL MASTERS nothing in relation to activating the link, how can I fix these problems.

Thanks,

Ken

Version 7 is so old that its online activation system has long been taken down. Any components that need to be activated will likely not be activated on a new install of this very old program.

I don't know why your Windows 7 drivers are no longer interfacing with the program like they used to. Once again, you're using a no longer supported program on an operating system that's virtually no longer supported, so there simply may not be a fix.

But there are free third-party options that will supplement the program, so you're not completely stuck.

You can capture your video over a FireWire connection using the free download WinDV. The video you capture will be editable in Premiere Elements.

If you can't burn directly to a disc, you can always select the option to burn your DVD files to your hard drive and then use a program like ImgBurn to burn those files to a disc. It takes no more time and just a couple of more clicks. I show you how in this Muvipix.com tutorial.
