Adobe Premiere 23 Freezes when I click Export

Adobe Premiere 23 Freezes when I click Export. The menu doesn't even pop up.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, cleared cache, allotted more memory etc. I had this issue with a previous project, and after a few days of changing settings finally got it to export. However, I can't remember what I did. Now I have a new project that won't export now. It is only a slideshow of about 60 photos with music using just the Adobe effects built into the software. As soon as I click File- export- media (Or even when I click the export button on the top menu) Premiere freezes up.

How large are your photos, measured in pixels? Although Premiere Elements is better at downsizing photos, particularly on more powerful machines, it can use a lot of resources downsizing large numbers of very large photos.

Remember, your slideshow is likely only 1920x1080 pixels in size. If you're loading 12 megapixel photos onto your timeline, then the program is downsizing 4000x3000 pixel images into images that are 1/6 that resolution. Mulitiply that times 50-60 pictures and you've got the potential for problems.

As I've said, this is less of a problem on today's more powerful computers, particularly if you've got a hard drive with hundreds of gigabytes of free space. But it could be part of the problem. Particularly if  your hard drive space is getting tight. And sizing your photos to more like 2500x1875, for instance, can really streamline the process and avoid these choke points.

    Just a thought.

    Try updating Windows.

if the cache you cleared previously is not the media cache, follow @Nancy OShea's suggestion first.

if that's not helpful, reset your preferences, http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/premiere/pro/troubleshooter/trash-preferences.html

I have also done this several times. Cleared cache, reset preferences. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and tried a different version of the software. Still not working.

Try clearing your Cache.  Edit > Preferences > Media > Media Cache Management.

    Hope that helps.

As I stated in my original post, I cleared the cache. Doesn't help.
