Adobe Premiere Elements 14: repeated crash after animation of text fields

Every time I try to add an animation to a text field, e.g. to slide the text into the frame, the program crashes. Does anybody know what I can do? If needed, I could also provide the many pages of the error code. Thanks for any help!

Has this worked in the past, or is this the first time you've used this animation?

What operating system do you have? Which processor do you have with how much RAM and how much free space is left on your hard drive?

it has worked in the past, i have used these animations many times. the only thing that changed is that i updated my macbook to macOS Catalina (Version 10.15.5). Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5. 

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. I still have 186GB free space.
