Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 VFR footage jerky

Hello

I've got some Variable Framerate Footage (VFR), apparently this is supported in Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 (Windows 10). Adobe Premiere Elements does detect it is VFR, however it's coming out jerky.

 

I notice there is an option in the Pro version to "Smooth Video Motion" - as I am discarding the audio, I would like to use this option:

I am assuming this is (strangely) not available? (In other words VFR not fully supported).

 

Any tips to work around this?

    Did you set Handbrake to constant framerate?

    Hi,

    The bar is green, sadly rerendering in handbreak doesn't do anything.
    I'm beginning to think the phone camera (Google Pixel) didn't render it correctly after shooting.
    To be more specific about what "jerky" means it seems to skip a frame or two every second or so.

    The doc applies to Premiere Pro not Elements.

    To avoid issues convert the footage to constant Framerate with HandBrake before bringing it into the Program.

    Variable frame rate video should never look jerky. But, in programs where it's not supported, the audio and video frequently go out of sync. So I think you may be dealing with another issue.

     

    When you first add your video to the timeline of a new project, do you see a yellow orange render line above the clip? This is an indication that for some reason the program isn't matching its project settings to your video specs. Is this an MP4 video or another format?
