Adobe Premiere Elements 2021 problem file extension .mov

From working without problems I can now not add .mov only audio is attached.
Can't find a reason.
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
.mov works Quic Time -VLC
But not with Windows Media Player
No problems with the computer otherwise.

You still have not done what the good folks here (who are trying to help you) requested:

quote

Please use the free, downloadable "MediaInfo" program and post the contents of the file. Use the "tree" view, copy and paste.

Received Adobe support phone who checked my computer including media info,
found no error.
Seems to be hard for me to get my problem across.
From one week to the next, Premiere Elements 2021 stops importing .mov
Premiere 2023 trial works perfectly.
Something has happened to Premiere Elements 2021

Nice support from Adobe, but unfortunately Premiere Elements 2021 is no longer supported.
Got the tip/link download try Premiere Elements 30 days.
Worked perfectly with my .mov files.
Anyone have any tips on what's wrong with Premiere 2021
Doesn't seem to be a computer fault as Premiere 2023 works.

What is the source and structure of the .MOV file?  Please use the free, downloadable "MediaInfo" program and post the contents of the file.  Use the "tree" view, copy and paste.

Hi and thanks Bill!
Laptop (MSI) is the newer working computer.
Attached what I believe are codec libraries on both computers

Unfortunately, I'm in deep water regarding computers.
Still not sure why a working program from a long time ago with the same .mov file stopped working
Sincerely
Lars

Codec provided by windows and the codec/file compatible with Elements are two different things.

Please download MediaInfo and analyze one of your MOV clip that will not run.

MOV is just a container.

What matters is what is inside the file meaning the codec used.

Post screenshot of clip in MediaInfo in TREEVIEW here on forum.

Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions for solutions.
What confuses me is that my . mov files have worked without problems.
Also have a laptop Windows 10 with Premiere Elements 2015
The same .mov files work there perfectly.
Unfortunately born in 1953 /Sweden / the language !!

It is confusing.  The basics are that the "data" from the camera is "coded" into a file then "decoded" when played using one of many standards.  The two words are combined to the word "codec".   Inside every video file like a .MOV is a codec.  The most common is called "H.264".   It is likely that your older computer has a codec that matches what is in your .MOV file and your newer computer does not.  Using MediaInfo can help sort that out.
