ADOBE PREMIERE ELEMENTS PC OF JUNK

I have been using Adobe Premiere Elements for years and both my 2023 and 2025 are so frustrating.  First off, when I import photos or videos into my project (Add Media) they show up as completely different photos?  Does Elements not support HEIC images?  It so unbelievably frustrating.  I invested in the 2025 upgrade thinkg that maybe some bbug had been resolved, but get the same problem!!!!   ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS???

HEIC is related to HEIF and is an Apple thing that tries to replace JPEG.  It is like HEVC replacing H.264.  Premiere Elements does not support that format.  The easiest solution is to set iPhones to use universal formats.  HEIC is good, but universal licensing issues get in the way of wider use.   Existing Apple formats can be converted and used.

Elements does support HEIC.

Download photo's first to your hard drive, then import.

It used to be that the HEVC and HEIC codecs were not on all Windows PC unless the user bought them from Microsoft.  Do you know if Adobe started including those codecs in Elements?  Do users still have to buy them in the Microsoft store?

What is an HEIC image?

Can you convert that to JPG?
