After cutting, the speed of video is faster than speed of voice. How to tackle?

Hello,

I imported in the Premiere Elements video files (.mts format). When I play these files, it works ok. Then I cut individual video files to pieces I am interested in. When I play it afterwards (as multiple videos that have been cutted), the sound is ok, but the video runs faster, i.e. is not alligned to the sound. I have tried to export the final "movie" to different formats (avi, mpeg4), but the problem prevails. I.e. I do not know who to "force" the video to be alligned with its own sound. Your help is very much appreciated, thank you, Jitka

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what is the video's resolution and format?

If this video is from a source other than a camcorder, please open a sample of your video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set the View menu to Text and then copy and paste the report it generates to this forum.

Most likely you have an issue with variable frame rate, as I discuss in this tutorial.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds reasonable. I have checked with Mediainfo and yes, the frame rate is different, the copy below. So, on the weekend, I will try with HandBrake. (I have some two hundred videos, so it will take some time, but hopefully, should be fixed this way.) Thanks, J.
