Question

After upgrade to 2023 many clips are scrunched into top left 1/4 screen

About 1/2 of my clips are now 1/4 size.  The preview window shows the video in the top left 1/4 with the rest of the screen filled with lines extending from the 1/4 size video.

If possible share a clip with which you are seeing this issue. Also share the screenshot & machine details please.

The problem seems to be the video encoding.  I don't know exactly what the difference is but I ran the video through Handbrake and now it displays fine.  This is painful though becuase probably 1/3 of my videos show the same issue.  Having to reencode them all will take a lot of time.

Can you post a MediaInfo "tree view" of the troublesome clips?  What is the source of the clips?  Can you post a sample clip so that I can try it on my installation of 2023?

To be clear, these worked fine in version 19.  I have triued opening the 19 version project and creating a new 2023 project and the videos do the same thing.  It seems to be something changed in the video import.

Or your video card driver MAY need to be updated

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond

If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver
-SOME laptops require an approved driver from the laptop company, not nVidia

AMD/ATI Driver https://www.amd.com/en/support

Intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/211969/Intel-HD-Graphics-Family

There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

Thanks.  I installed the studio drive.  Didn't help.
