Alpha Glow effect added to a videomerged clip causes video crash in Premiere Elements 2023 for Mac

Why is the video display going completely wonky after I add "Alpha Glow" effect to a clip that already has a Videomerge effect?   Never had this issue with Premiere Elements 2021 or prior versions.

@Kevin Murphy PRE 2025 Can you mention the exact steps you tried after which PRE got crashed. It is working fine for me

Try adding the Alpha Glow before the Videomerge.
