APE 2021 freeze since 2021.3 update

Hello,

I have been using Adobe Premiere Elements and Element Organizer since decades and their 2021 version since almost a year.

Since the last PrE 2021 update, dated 2021-08-27, labeled 2021.3, I face stong issues when working with projects developped a few month ago. The project loads correctly, ressources are well found, video clips appear correctly, as well as added titles, but I am unable to play the timeline using the usual SPACE bar.

My machine works currently under Win 10 21H1 x64. It is based on:

  • Intel Core i7-9800X CPU using 8 processors and 32 GB RAM,
  • NVIDIA Quadro P4000 8GB, 4DP GPU, detected by PrE but not used for accelerating its operation,
  • OS (C:/) SSD SATA 3, 1 TB drive, both for OS and for all installed softwares, including Adobe PrE and PsE,
  • Video HD SATA 7200 rpm 4 TB drive, for all video clips and projects.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in solving this bug, which seems to be related to last Premiere Elements update, i.e. 2021.3 one.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel-T

Something may have corrupted in the upgrade.

Uninstall the program (You won't lose any work in progress), but hang onto the activation number. Then download the "free trial" of Premiere Elements from Adobe and re-activate it.

>NVIDIA Quadro P4000

I have an MSI GeForce GTX 1650 with driver 456.71 and I don't have any problems... but I'm wondering if 'something' about the 2021.3 version is having a problem with your card and/or driver version

If reinstalling the program doesn't fix your problem, you might want to go to nvidia and try a newer driver

Thanks John T Smith for this interesting suggestion. I do not feel that the NVIDIA driver is likely to be the issue, since I frequently check for NVIDIA driver updates. Furthermore my GPU is correctly recognised by PrE, but not used for software acceleration.
