Audio Synchronization/Feature Request

Problem: I want to synchronize an audio track with a video track, but the smallest increment you can move the audio track is one frame.

I'm new to Premiere Elements, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I need to line up the waveforms on two audio tracks, but moving the track one frame at a time is not accurate enough. There doesn't seem to be any way to move the audio less than a frame. I know I can export the audio and synchronize it using third party software, but why should I have to? Why can't I move an audio track 15 or 20 milliseconds vs. one frame?

It makes sense that a video track can only move one frame at a time, but audio sample rate is obviously significantly higher than video, and I'd like to be able move it at a higher resolution. Is there something I'm missing here, or is this limitation intentional? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct answer Bill Sprague

You are correct, you can only move audio a frame at time.  Premiere Pro CC can do a much better job.

There is a technique you can make work.  It is well documented here:  Syncing Audio with Video Premier Elements.mpg - YouTube

Thanks a lot for the reply. Based on the amount of audio I'm going to need to synchronize from multiple sources, I think my best option is to upgrade to Pro CC. Again, I appreciate the reply.
