Audio will not play in Premiere Elements 2019

Hi,

The video and mp3 files I have play perfectly using any other app, but when I import them to Elements 2019, there is no audio.

 

Was working fine yesterday, but not today. 

Tried some youtube tutorials like cleaning out cache, making a new common folder but nothing is working.

 

Help resolving this would be great, thank you.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand you are unable to hear anything on playing media in Adobe Premiere Elements.

 

  • Does it happen with any specific set of files?
  • Have you checked the issue with more than one project?
  • Did you try adjusting the audio hardware settings as suggested by @whsprague?

Sometimes the Audio Hardware settings seem to change mysteriously.  It might have to do with Windows updates.  Go to Edit > Settings > Audio Hardware and try changes.  I can't tell you what the choices are because it is dependent on your computer.
