Blank space is created when I add music file

I use Premiere Elements ver 21 on Windows. When I drag a music file from Project Assets to the Music Track a blank space gets added above on the Video 1 Track the same size as the music I added.

How can I prevent this?

Thanks,

Sharon

The Alt key will also limit your timeline ripple to only the track you're adding video/photos to.

I think I just found that I should be using the Ctrl key when adding music.  It's awkward but I tried it and it worked. Thank you.
